Buying guide to shower enclosures

Our most commonly asked question when it comes to someone making the important choice of what shower enclosure they want, is how long does the installation take?

Well, everything depends if you have someone qualified to come and install it for you, or you could go down the DIY route. All our enclosures come with comprehensive, manufacturer instructions – if you are planning to install the enclosure yourself.

Unless you’re proficient in DIY, we would recommend could get a professional installer.

As far as qualified installers go, they can have it done within a few hours, or even 45 minutes, depending on the enclosure.

For example, we have recently added the new Coram Optima Quadrant Enclosures, to our website, Showerselector

Coram state this can be fitted within 45 minutes.

The different types of shower doors for enclosures - and what suits different bathrooms.

Sliding Shower Doors

Sliding Shower Doors offer a massive range of sizes from 700mm to 1700mm, this means they can be suitable for any bathroom of any size, including en-suites or small bathrooms.

 Bi-Fold Shower Doors

Bi-fold shower doors are great for smaller bathrooms or en-suites where space is at a premium. Due to their unique design they take up very little space when opened, and come in sizes as small as 700mm, right up to 1000mm.

Pivot Shower Doors

Pivot Shower Doors open outwards, and are perfectly suited to enclosures that are fitted in an alcove in your bathroom. They  can also be fitted as full shower enclosures with the use of side panels.

Bath Shower screens

Bath Shower Screens come in range of different styles and sizes that can transform your bathroom.

As an over bath solution, they are cost effective and practical.

Corner Door Enclosures

Corner Door Enclosures are the best solution for all compact bathrooms where space is hard to come by and in awkward shapes, the corner entry has a range of different entry options such as hinged doors and sliding doors.

Quadrant shower enclosures

Quadrant shower enclosures can be an alternative to standalone cubicles, and the curved design gives a wider access space for you to get into the enclosure. Quadrant enclosures are made up of quadrant panels, which are fixed to the bathroom wall, and quadrant doors, which slide open.
